2019 Grand Prix Holon
The international “Grand Prix” Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition will take place in Holon for the 17th time between 28-29 May at the Holon Toto Arena.
The competition will take place on Wednesday and Thursday for the first time ever.
The competitions this year are the last in the round of Grand Prix competitions preceding the European Championship in Spain this June.
Over 250 gymnasts will take part in the competition, travelling from 28 countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, USA, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, Austria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Norway, Slovakia, Estonia, France, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Kirgizstan, Switzerland, Finland, Uzbekistan and Israel.
Holon continues a grand and longstanding tradition for the
16'th year In the presence of Holon Mayor, Moti Sasson.
“Grand Prix” is an important and prestigious international competition held in 8 major cities throughout Europe, attracting the world’s best gymnasts year after year. Israel is the only non-European country to host the competition.
Throughout the years, the “Holon Grand Prix” has hosted Olympic gymnasts and world champion rhythmic gymnasts including Alina Kabaeva, Evgenia Kanaeva, Margarita Mamun and Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia; Anna Bessanova and Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine; Inna Zhukova, Liubov Charkashyna, Melitina Staniouta and Katsiayna Halkina of Belarus.
Holon promotes the field of rhythmic gymnastics, nurturing the gymnasts of the future. There are about 500 gymnasts in Holon, about 100 of them participating in national and international competitions.
