The City of Holon is hosting the International “Grand Prix” Competitionin Rhythmic Gymnastics
June 23-24| Holon Toto Hall

Over 160 leading gymnasts from 20 countries are arriving
to participate in this year’s competition.

The City of Holon continues its long standing tradition hosting the International
"Grand Prix" competition in Rhythmic Gymnastics for the 14th year,
in cooperation with the Israel Gymnastics Association.
The Competition will be held in the presence of Motti Sasson, Mayor of Holon.

This year, for the first time, winners of the Grand Prix group competition
will receive financial awards.

This year Israel has a new team directed by Ira Vigdorchik, Head Coach.
The competition includes an international individuals’ tournament
for seniors and juniors.

This is the first competition in which the new team is participating. The City of Holon will be represented
by gymnast Ophir Dayan. Four top gymnasts are representing Israel in the individuals’ competitions.
The “Grand Prix” competition is a prestigious and prominent international competition
held in eight major European cities. It has become an annual event attracting
the most outstanding gymnasts in the world.
Israel is the only non-European country to have ever hosted this competition.

The countries participating are:

Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Hungary,
Latvia, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Brazil, Norway,
France, Belgium, Serbia, Spain, Australia, Moldova and Israel.

Numerous Olympic gymnasts and World champions have participated,in the
Holon Grand Prix over the years and just to name a few: Alina Kabaeva,
Evgenia Kanaeva, Margarita Mamun and Yana Kudravtseva from Russia; Anna
Bessanova and Anna Ritzantdinova from the Ukraine; Inna Zhukova,
Liubov Charkashyna, Melitina Staniouta, and Katsiaryna Halkina from Belarus.

The City of Holon has been promoting Rhythmic Gymnastics and nurturing its
future gymnasts for several years.
There are about 500 gymnasts training in Holon, including about 100 gymnasts
who compete in national and international contests.

The competition will take place at the elaborate, modern Holon Toto Hall,
with 5,300 seats in the main hall. The Holon Toto Hall is located at Peres Park,
southeast of the city.

The Finals, the Closing Ceremony and Gala event will be held
on Saturday, 24.6.17, between 17:00-20:00
The public may enter the hall by 16:30 at the latest
